INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY

Dentistry, like all other fields of medicine and science, is always developing and improving with new knowledge and techniques through research and study. At Smileworks, we are committed to improving our wealth of dental knowledge and providing our patients with the best possible dental care backed by sound dental science. Smileworks believes in providing patients with the best care possible and continually look towards improving their practice.

3Shape TRIOS Intraoral scanner

Smileworks is equipped with one of the latest intraoral scanners.  It allows our dentists to take accurate and fast digital impressions without the mess of conventional impression materials, making the whole procedure so much more comfortable for the patient.

The digital scans can then be seamlessly ported to dental laboratories for the manufacture of various dental prostheses or appliances, such as veneers, crowns, bridges, orthodontic appliances and clear aligner treatments such at Invisalign and eCligner.

Digital X-Rays

Digital X-rays are faster and contain less radiation than traditional X-rays. When a patient has a digital X-ray done, the image appears on the computer in a matter of seconds. Your dentist can then zoom into the image to better assess and educate the patient regarding their oral health. Digital X-rays are also less harmful for patients as they contain up to 90% less radiation compared to traditional X-rays.

Cone-Beam CT (Computed Tomography)

Cone-beam computed tomography systems (CBCT) are a variation of traditional computed tomography (CT)systems. The CBCT systems used by dental professionals rotate around the patient, capturing data using a cone-shaped X-ray beam. These data are used to reconstruct a three-dimensional (3D) image.

Dental CBCT images provide three-dimensional (3-D) information, rather than the two-dimensional (2-D) information provided by a conventional X-ray image. This may help with the diagnosis, treatment planning and evaluation of certain conditions.

Auto-Tooth Bone Graft System

The technology is now available for us to take freshly extracted tooth/teeth and convert them into useful bone graft material instead of discarding them as waste. This conversion process can be done in less than 30 minutes. This will save patients the need for additional costs and time. The risk of rejection is greatly reduced compared to other bone grafts.

Ozonytron

Ozone is a naturally occurring molecule in our atmosphere. The technology available allows production of medical grade ozone for effective elimination of bacteria and virus in minutes. It is very useful to treat active oral infections without having to use antibiotics indiscriminately. It has also other dental applications such as teeth whitening and management of dental decay.
